To the voters of Wilson County Texas:
I want express a quick “THANK YOU” to all who voted and especially to all who supported and voted for me in the Primary and the Run-Off Election.
The Run-Off date has come and passed, and the voters have spoken.
Unfortunately, my tally was approximately 30 votes shy of my opponent’s so he will have the Republican nomination for Constable.
I respect the decision of the voters, and can say with all honesty that it was a clean, honorable race, and I have no regrets for being a part of that. It has been one of the many honors of my life.
I now look foreword to continuing my service to the Republican Party of Texas as well as the voters of Wilson County in other ways. I also ask that each and every one of my supporters do the same.
I wish everyone that reads this many blessing's and good luck in the future.
With Warmest Regards
Steve Whitfield
Republican Candidate for Constable
Wilson County Precinct #4
**** RUN-OFF ****
TUESDAY APRIL 8, 2008
Under “Issues” there some interesting links that might give you more insight on items listed on this site.
I’m Steve Whitfield and I am seeking the Republican nomination for Constable Pct. 4. As you may know this race has now entered a run-off between myself and my opponent Galen Jansky.
First, I want to say, “Thank You” to everyone who supported and voted for me, during the Primary election and I am asking for your continued vote and support during this run-off election.
Before the primary election, I addressed a group of problems that had been brought to my attention while campaigning throughout the county. By taking on these items I chose set myself apart from the other candidates in this race. Actually committing what I wanted to do for us, the tax payer’s, to make more of a difference in our everyday lives than merely drawing a county paycheck.
These issues not only included animal control and environmental enforcement, which can also lead to future grant funding, but making crime prevention strategies such as H.E.A.T., C.O.P., Project Child Safe, and Community Watch programs available to the citizens of the precinct. The implementation of these programs will benefit all of us because they teach people how to help law enforcement by helping themselves.
I would also like to see more programs for made available for our children in Elementary and Middle School such as D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. These programs take only a couple hours a week and not only give our kids valuable information to make informed decisions on how to cope with drugs and gangs, but promote self esteem, life skills, and bonds between them and law enforcement that can last a lifetime.
These programs are usually assigned to regular patrol officers in larger departments in addition to regular patrol duties. This case should be no different.
Addressing these problems sooner rather than later will be less costly, and will make our county as a whole, safer and more efficient.
I am again asking you for your support and to return to the polls on April the 8th, 2008 and vote for me so I can be your candidate for Constable.
Honesty, Experience, and Integrity you can trust, make me THE best candidate for this position.
Thank you,
Steve Whitfield
Republican Candidate for Constable, Precinct 4
